The purpose of this course is to enable all participants take charge of a situation when a person is injured or becomes ill – until more appropriate assistance arrives.
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical elements. The course includes:
- The role of the First Aider/ Appointed Person
- Legislation – including Health & Safety at Work Act
- Accident Recording and RIDDOR
- First Aid Kits
- Prioritising Casualties
- Primary/Secondary Assessment
- Recovery Position
- Basic Life Support
It’s a 1 day course and candidates wishing to attend should be aware that the course has a practical element to it where they will be demonstrating the recovery position and CPR techniques.
